Veneers are the Solution You’ve Been Looking For

Porcelain veneers are permanent and sometimes costly and can feel like a big step for many people. If you have tried tooth whitening, however, and been unhappy with the results, veneers may be the answer. Veneers can offer either subtle results or dramatic transformations depending on how they are used, and can completely remake your smile.

What Can Dental Veneers Be Used For?

Dental veneers aren’t just for permanently white teeth – they can be used to address a variety of cosmetic complaints.

  • Cover permanently stained or discolored teeth immune to chemical whitening
  • Cover cracked or chipped teeth
  • Close gaps between teeth
  • Disguise and improve the look of crooked teeth

Types of Dental Veneers

Did you know that there are different types of veneers? Depending on the results you are looking for and your budget, Drs. Karl and Walter Neuhaus may recommend one of three kinds of veneers or a combination of each.

Composite Resin Veneers

For people who are nervous about the idea of veneers, this may be the best choice. They use a tooth-colored resin that is applied and directly sculpted directly on the tooth and require little to no preparation of the tooth. They are only semi-permanent.

Lumineers

Like composite resin, lumineers require little to no preparation and are removable if desired. They are not for everyone, so ask Dr. Neuhaus if they might be the right choice for you.

Porcelain Veneers

This is what most people think of when it comes to veneers. The veneers themselves are made of a thin, translucent shell of porcelain which is stain resistant and closely mimics the look of natural teeth. They are a permanent investment that should last you a lifetime.

What to Expect from Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a more intensive process spread over 2-3 visits. At your first visit, we will prepare your tooth by removing a small amount of enamel, take impressions, and fit you with a set of temporary veneers. It takes about 2-3 weeks to fabricate your final veneers. Once they are finished, if you are satisfied with the fit and color, Dr. Neuhaus will fix them permanently to your teeth with a special bonding cement.
